Sponsor (company)

(1) Company that designs, negotiates, and normally helps to administer an occupational plan for its employees and members or company that stimulates and participates in public private partnerships.
(2) A company wishing to develop and finance (with equity) a project. Shareholders of project companies are known as sponsors.
