Merchant Service Charge (MSC)

Fee paid for each card transaction by a merchant to an acquirer, who processes the merchant's transaction through the network and obtains the funds from the cardholder's bank (issuing institution). The transaction is considered to be executed when the corresponding funds, equal to the price of the sold item, are debited from the consumer's account and, after deducting the merchant service charge, are credited to the merchant's account.
