General contractor

Takes sole responsibility for the proper delivery of all construction work on a turnkey basis, once the design and planning work has been completed. The general contractor also performs some of the construction work itself (usually core and shell work) while outsourcing other tasks (usually fitting-out work) to subcontractors. The general contractor carries both the technical and the financial risk vis-à-vis the client.
