Force majeure

An reason for contractual non-performance due to events beyond the control of parties to a contract. These events are either "acts of God" (floods, fires, earthquakes, epidemics or other natural disasters) or political risks (war, strikes, riots, expropriation, breach of contract, etc.) or archeological site discoveries. Contractual performance is forgiven or extended by the period of force majeure.
