Arranger
A bank or other financial institution responsible for originating, agreeing, negotiating and syndicating a project finance structure, a securitisation or loan transaction. The arranger always has a senior role, is often the agent, and usually participates in the transaction at the most senior level (it holds the largest share of the loan).The key role is determining the appetite investors will have for a new issue and pricing the transaction so that both the issuer´s and investor´s requirements are satisfied. Frequently arranging activities involve a combination of fee based corporate finance activities, sales and trading activity carrying with it balance sheet risks.
In securitization, the entity that organizes and arranges a securitization transaction, but does not sell or transfer the assets to the issuing entity. The entity may also act as underwriter for the deal.
