Anchor tenant

An anchor tenant is the main or major user of a commercial property. Such tenants stand out for their ability to attract customers - and also other users and investors - and are a key factor in a property´s market standing. The term is often used in connection with retail developments, where the anchor tenant is what attracts custom to the property.
